Feeling a Little Bit Western

I was in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies in Southern Alberta this past week, taking in the western lifestyle. It's gorgeous country out there with open prairie, rolling hills dotted with cows, horses and oil wells, all under a huge prairie sky. And with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop.

It's a land that is vast, but not empty. There are ranches, cows, horses and cowboys.

My picks this week are influenced by the good people of Southern Alberta, who live and work close to the land and who showed me what Western Hospitality is all about.
