Featured Shop: Cat's Wire

Cat's Wire: During the day a librarian, in the evenings slave to four cats and a husband ... and to wire and crochet hook/knitting spool/knitting needles. Cat likes to experiment and try new things with these tools, so be sure to visit often.

Cat says, "Mostly I just go where the wire and my tool take me, join me on this ride!"

"Sometimes my brain gives me strange ideas - like trying to break my fingers and my hook crocheting 22 gauge copper wire into a necklace.

So here it is, a 19.7 inch or 50 cm long crochet necklace from oxidised copper wire with 8 mm glass beads worked in.
The glass beads are blue on one, yellow on the other side which mixes to green in the middle, a really stunning effect as if you are looking into the waters of a mysterious lake.

The necklace is finished off with a handmade copper wire clasp."

"After the princess had forgotten her ball again after playing, her mother put it on a little chain and told her that way she would never mislay it again.

The little princess' ball is crocheted from champagne (green-golden) colored copper wire and filled with dark green bicone crystals that are peeking through the gaps.

Including the handwrapped bail it is a little over 1 inch or 2.5 cm high."

"Would you like some ice in your orange juice? This is what these earrings remind me off.

They are hand crocheted from metallic orange coated copper wire. The slightly domed disks are adorned by 7 mm clear glass AB (aurora borealis) rounded cube beads. For added interest a little spiral "trickles down" at the lower end."

"When the ice princess is crying, her tears fall on the shimmering snow and turn to drops of ice ...

This bracelet is hand crocheted from silver plated wire with ice blue acrylic beads in two different sizes worked in randomly."

"Carry your vitamin C with you with these delicious raspberry earrings!

The raspberries are hand crocheted from wine red copper wire with red silver-lined glass beads. Including the silver tone French earwires they are 1.8 inch or 4.6 cm high."

Lovely, I've never gotten the hang of crochet with wire although I can crochet with yarn, no problem.
