Brass Silver Hammered Round Circles in Dangle Hoop - style Earrings are an elegant mixture of metals. This pair named, Well-Rounded, describes a person who is balanced in all aspects of life...intellectually and culturally, one who can contribute positively and is cultivated in every sense. The brass cirles are almost the size of a U.S. quarter coin and the silver one is a little under the size of a U.S. dime.

Sterling Silver Earrings in Triangle Shape is triangular in shape and beautiful overall! It's completely handmade in sterling silver and is tailored at 1 1/4" in length. They are light weight and wear very comfortably.

Handmade Copper Sterling Silver Earrings with Flowers are cute and jingle with every movement! The hammered metal circles are accented with Pewter Flowers just to jazz it up a bit! The copper circles measure about 22mm in diameter (about the size of a U.S. quarter) and the sterling silver rings measure about 16mm diameter (a little under the size of a U.S. dime).

Sterling Silver Pink Cube Crystal Earrings are named Rosetta Ice and are fashioned with pretty pink cube crystals, glass beads that have a hint, just a hint of pink colour for a pretty, cutesy girly feeling. This pair dangles approximately at 1 1/2" (4.5cm) in length and is made of sterling silver.

Handmade Sterling Silver Earrings with Faceted Czech Brown Beads. They are tailored at almost 2" in length (including the ear wires) and are fashioned with 12mm faceted Czech beads emulating brown to rustic brown hues, depending on the reflection of light. The beads are also accented with spreckles of blue hues, for a picasso finish effect and are connected to 9mm sterling silver discs for that sweet symmetrical effect.

How to Make Your Own Ear Wires

By Barb Macy of Accent Yourself

Materials & Tools Needed: round nose & chain nose pliers, flush cutters, 20 gauge sterling silver round wire, a round pen or pencil, tumbler or burr cup (optional).

1. First, cut round sterling silver wire into 1 3/4 - 2 inch pieces. Make sure all of your pieces are the same length.

2. Next, with your round nose pliers, make a loop at one end of a piece of wire. I make the look going against the natural curve of the wire. You might want to mark your round nose pliers at the point you make the loop for more consistency.

3. Using the pencil or pen as a guide, wrap the wire around making a hook. At this point, I go "with" the natural curve of the wire.

4. Make a small bend in the end of the wire with your chain nose pliers.

Tips:
  • Practice on copper wire first. Don't waste your expensive sterling silver wire!

  • After practicing on copper wire, decide what size you like and stick with it! It will help you become more consistent in making your own earwires.

  • Use a file or burr cup to soften the ends and to get rid of sharp points.

  • Tumble the batch for 20-30 minutes for added hardening & shine.

  • I like using 20 gauge wire. I've found that the ear wires are more substantial and hold the little plastic ear wire keepers more securely.
